General shots of the Queen Mary's exterior

Funnel Image

The forward funnel of the Queen Mary. The hooters still work, though they are driven by compressed air today, not steam. When they are sounded a few times a day on the hour, they are so loud that they set off car alarms in the car park.

Side of Bridge

The Bridge seen from the dockside. The sweeping lines of the liner are still graceful in spite of the ship's immense size.

View from crow's nest

The ship seen from the crow's nest. The dome on the right of the ship used to house Howard Hughes' "Spruce Goose" aeroplane. Today it is used as a studio for shooting movies including, in the past, Batman Returns and Stargate. It might be used for concerts in the future.

Side of ship

The Queen Mary seen looking forward from a ramp leading from the dockside to the ship. The ramps in the distance link the elevators on the left to A (hotel) deck, R and Promenade decks. The rivets are easy to see in this shot.
