The Queen Mary Mailing List

(Discussion Group)

If you have been on a mailing list before, you'll know what it's all about, so I won't repeat it all here. If you haven't, click here to find out more about it.

The Queen Mary mailing list was originally set up to allow free discussion of the Grand Tour (towing the ship to Japan) proposal in 1997, but now encompasses any other subject concerning the Queen Mary. Discussion often centers on the state of the current restoration efforts on board (or the lack of them, depending on your point of view). Also discussed are historical topics though, and the list has many Queen Mary experts and ex-crew subscribed to it.

When you subscribe (which costs nothing), you will receive a file which explains the mailing list in greater detail. You may join and leave as much as you like.

To join: send an email to majordomo@admin.listbox.com

with the message in the message area of your email "subscribe queenmary" (do not type the quotes). To leave the list, send a message with "unsubscribe queenmary" in the message area to the same address. The subject line is ignored in both cases

Also available is a digest version of the list. This is a compilation of all the messages sent to the list and is issued roughly once every day or two. To join this list instead (there is no point being on the regular and the digest list - you just get two copies of everything!), you should put subscribe queenmary-digest in your subscription message to majordomo@admin.listbox.com, instead of subscribe queenmary.

To leave the digest list, you should send unsubscribe queenmary-digest to majordomo@admin.listbox.com.

To post a message to the Queen Mary mailing list, address your message to queenmary@admin.listbox.com. You must join the list in order to post messages to it. This is an anti-spam measure.

If you have any problems, mail me, Julian Hill, at sterling@rmplc.co.uk.
